Came in on a whim from a random Facebook influencer video. At first we were the only two people in the place. I was feeling bad for how slow business was when I was enjoying my food so much. And then the rush started. I was happy to see so many people supporting this small business! Let me first say, I got overly excited when I found out I could build my bowl with a base of fries in stead of rice. So I basically got to build some of the best loaded fries ever. Started with the gyro meat, but then quickly got into the veggie options. Skip the lettuce - there were tomatoes and cucumbers, add Kalamata olives, sumac dusted onions, pickled red cabbage, and banana peppers! Add that feta cheese and tzatziki sauce and I was smiling! I did briefly look at the dessert case, but with my nut and sesame allergies I was already on edge with possible cross contamination - I finished at the counter without even asking about sweets.

Absolutely delightful! We both got half rice/half hummus bowls with lamb and they were delicious! The guys serving us were extremely friendly and accommodating given that it was our 1st time there. Definitely will be back!

Great little gem in North Columbus, food is excellent, and very fresh. The manager informed us that the owner has all the food made fresh daily, and will not compromise on quality. That was obvious, given our very tasty falafel plate that didnβt break the bank. Staff is very friendly, my friend and I went for an early dinner at 4 oβclock, and wound up staying until 8 PM, just lost in conversation. Highly recommended if you want good, fresh middle eastern food.

After a long flight to Ohio from Arizona, Sumac has some of the best food ever. We love it so much, we ordered more to take home. The owner, Mo & his staff are very curteous & treat you like you're a friend visiting in their home. The chicken shawarma is a must have. The falafel was fantastic. The dolmas, perfectly seasoned. The hummus, perfect! & the pitas...oh my, so soft & yummy. If you haven't eaten here & live nearby, you are missing out!!

Came here to catch up with a friend. Was greeted with a nice smile upon entering. We expressed it was our first time here at Sumac. The Mediterranean build your own was very clean and empty upon entering. My friend opted for a half hummus half rice base with chicken shawarma and other toppings. He let me try his and it was very good with the spicy sauce he had on top of his tzatziki. The chicken shawarma and the beef lamb gyro meat was so tender and well seasoned. The vegetables and toppings were all so fresh and bright in color. I got some crispy and well seasoned fries for my base and they are such good fries just on their own and cooked to order. Topped With cucumbers, tomatoes, banana peppers, pickled cabbage and pickled onions with a tzatziki sauce, spicy feta and regular feta sprinkled on top. An Absolute Flavor Explosion. Plenty of patrons came and went while we was dining in. There was a couple that yelled "Best gyros in town!" on their way out the door from dining in as well. I'll have to come try those too! For price and portion I think this Mediterranean cuisine is completely worth the try and is added to my rotation in restaurants. Can't wait to come back.
